PV Week 2

This week flew by!! Wish I was staying longer, but there’s so much else to see!

The week started off with a yacht cruise with a group of Gen X expats. Star is organizing these monthly and it’s so fun!! Food, bar, swimming, snorkeling, paddle boards, making new friends, seeing whales, dolphins, sting rays jumping out of the water, diving birds and just relaxing, having a great time on this yacht. Their next outing is New Years Eve!! If you’re in Puerto Vallarta, it’ll definitely be a fun time! thanks to Amanda for the wildlife pics! ❀️

Monday I went to music bingo at MonzΓ³n Brewery, was disappointed, not much fun but I did meet a guy from Boston that was visiting his friend that relocated here. Small world! My friends Lanie and Joel met me there and we ended up going to Kooky, a karaoke bar. We had so much fun, and I got up to sing 3 times!! (Granted, it was always with others). This guy from LA had a voice like butter! Swoon! Plus he was good looking! Him and his partner were so fun to talk to! πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆβ€οΈ

Tuesday was a down day, did laundry and hung out at the Airbnb. Don’t forget to do this!! No need to always be outside, at the beach, doing touristy stuff.

Wednesday I was back at Playa Camarones in the morning, I love that it’s 3 streets down from me, just a 5 minute walk. Nice and quiet in the morning until about 10:30/11 when people really start showing up, then it’s time to leave. I usually go hang back at the apartment during the heat of the day. That night was music bingo at El Sonodor in Zona Romantica. It’s where I initially met some of the people from the Gen X expat group. There was a good showing this week and lots of laughs.

These bathroom doors are so fun!

Happy Thanksgiving πŸ¦ƒ!!

Whiskey Kitchen is where I ended up going. American owned with a yummy assortment of food! Turkey with a white gravy, pork roast, Green bean casserole, corn, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, salad bar and dessert bar. All very good! The desserts were peach, cobbler, pumpkin pie, and whiskey bread. Oh that whiskey bread was amazing! And the pumpkin pie was so rich. I’ve never had one so flavorful before. Hope you all had a wonderful day! Here are a couple of the food pics. πŸ˜€

All of a sudden it’s Friday!! Went for a walk in the morning to the grocery store for snackies, then back to my place to rest. This was the beginning of that “I think I’m getting a cold” feeling.  Have I been to the Farmacia yet? Nope, will go in the morning (Sunday).

Beetles everywhere!! ❀️

Friday night a bunch of expats friends were going to Awaysis to see a band. I stopped at a taco place for dinner, can’t go wrong with $2 chicken tacos!! FYI…they are just marinated cooked chicken pieces in a soft corn tortilla. No cheese (it’s an American thing). But it did come with fresh pico de gallo, and, three different sauces to choose from. Look! A soda in a glass bottle!

After dinner I walked down to the venue, kind of a sketchy neighborhood (my own feeling ) and I would not feel safe there at night. And that’s not just because of the awful sidewalks. It was right near the river which was very peaceful.

This building which I loved, was directly next to one the previous picture.

So my friends showed up and I met a couple new people and some other people I didn’t even know were going to be there showed as well. The band was fantastic! ’80s music all the way! They do. Serve food but because I had already eaten all I got was some tater tots. My friends ended up getting these hot dogs, which apparently they’re known for. I guess in Texas they call them crispy dogs because they are deep fried.

When the band took their break at 9:00, my friends Kristen and Tripp went up to do a quick fire show. What they do is really remarkable and beautiful to watch.

This is Trip. Only the flames only last a few seconds.
This was the owner of the bar getting set on fire.

And all of a sudden it’s Saturday morning! Lanie, Joel and I met at Mar Y Vino for breakfast in a pool! It was on the second floor, and first class all the way. They give you a bag to put your shoes in. There’s even a place to sit down to take your shoes off. You walk into the water. They have a stand so you can hang your bags, and we overlooked the ocean. The water goes up not even mid calf but it was nice and cooling. We saw a. Whale, we had these Oreo coffee drinks to start and they had tequila and some other kind of alcohol in them but they were so good! It was like dessert. The food I couldn’t even finish mine because it was so much. But I had like a chicken burrito for breakfast and Joel had french toast which was kind of like a creme brulee with chocolate mousse too, and Lanie had some kind of enchilada with a green sauce. Everything was fabulous!

We then wandered to try to find cat Island. Which we did, but we couldn’t see any cats. So we crossed the swaying wooden plank bridge (I don’t like it!) and went to the flea market where I bought a new ring having lost all my jewelry on the way here. After walking around for a bit, we ended up going back over to the island to the circle bar where there’s a ton of alcohol hanging over the bar. It’s actually pretty cool. We sat outside by the river, which was very dried up at this time of year, had a few drinks, had a bunch of laughs and it was just really nice hanging out with my new friends! ❀️

Tomorrow, I am taking it easy! 🀣
